What is WERCS certification

WERCS is a database company and a leading global supplier of green supply chain systems and related software for chemical regulations. WERCS registration refers to entering the relevant data of some products (mainly products containing toxic chemical substances or dangerous goods) into the official website of WERCS. Suppliers who have registered with WERCSmart are undoubtedly the first choice for retailers.

WERCSmart registration required for product categories

The product contains certain chemicals, dangerous or potentially dangerous, or regulated chemical components, and the downstream retailer (customer) uses the Wercsmart system;

General clothing and food do not need to be registered, except food with special container devices (such as aerosols or vacuum tubes, etc.);

Retailers require suppliers to register.

Battery WERCSmart Registration

Registration of batteries not sold directly to retailers

This battery is only used on other electronic products that are sold as an independent brand. This battery has no UPC/GTIN code, and is registered by the battery supplier to the WERCSmart system for other electronic product suppliers to link the battery information when they register.

Main Information Request

MSDS file (including model, capacity, weight, voltage, 100% ingredient list, CAS number of each ingredient, form, color, smell, mode of transportation, and hazard protection measures, etc.).

Registration of batteries sold directly to retailers

This battery has a UPC/GTIN code and is registered to the WERCSmart system, and the system will pass the relevant information to the lower-level retailer specified during registration.

Electronic product registration with batteries requires two steps

The battery supplier first registers the battery information on the WERCSmart system, and adds the battery supplier's name to the WERCS battery supplier list (if there are multiple different battery suppliers, they must register independently);

The supplier of the electronic product registers this electronic product. In the steps, to select the included battery information, the supplier of the battery will be found in the list, and the battery information will be linked.

The MSDS control of electronic products containing batteries is still specific to batteries.

Main information requirements: MSDS file, shipping method, UPC code, packaging method, weight (ounces), designated retailer name, retailer contact number and email, qualified supplier ID number (O'Reily, Sears/K-Mart, Wal -Mart/SAM'S CLUB required)

WERCSmart registration for other products

Products sold under retailer brands require WERCSmart to edit the SDS file;

In addition to the information contained in ordinary MSDS files, the information provided for liquid products generally includes water specific gravity, PH value, boiling point, flash point, personal protective measures (masks, gloves, aprons, protective glasses), auto-ignition temperature, and minimum auto-ignition energy (mJ ), water/oil ratio, viscosity coefficient);

For OTC and nutritional products, product nameplates (PDF format) are required;
