Model toys usually refer to various types of toys, mainly used for entertainment and education. Model toys exported to the EU need to undergo EN71 testing. EN71 is the EU toy safety standard, which requires all toys sold in the EU market to comply with this standard. EN71 testing includes physical and mechanical performance testing, flame retardant performance testing, chemical composition testing and other aspects to ensure the safety of toys.
EU EN71 testing and certification project for model toys:
1. Physical and mechanical performance testing: including sharp point test, sharp edge test, small parts test, pressure test, bending test, impact test, seam tensile test, tensile test, torsion test, noise level, power strength, etc.
2. Flame retardant performance test: This part stipulates the types of flammable materials that are prohibited from being used in all toys and the combustion performance requirements for toys with certain small fire sources.
3. Chemical composition testing: including detection of the dissolution of eight heavy metals, such as antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, tin, etc., as well as plasticizers such as phthalates and other harmful substances.
4. Packaging and labeling testing: including toy packaging testing, such as whether the packaging materials are fragile and easy to peel paint, etc., as well as labeling testing, such as whether warning signs, safety signs, instructions for use, etc. are compliant.
5. Acoustic performance testing: including sound intensity testing and sound frequency testing to ensure that the noise in the toy is not too loud.
EU EN71 testing and certification process for model toys:
1. Prepare materials: Provide detailed product specifications, product samples, CE certification certificates and other required documents.
2. Sample delivery: Send product samples to a third-party testing agency for testing.
3. Testing and inspection: Testing includes physical and mechanical safety testing, flammability testing, toxicity testing, radiation testing, noise testing and chemical composition analysis to ensure that the product meets the requirements of the EN71 standard.
4. Certificate issuance and application: If the product meets the requirements, the testing agency will issue an EN71 certificate and submit the test results to the EN71 certification agency for approval. After being approved by the EN71 certification agency, you can submit the EN71 certificate to the EU and apply for the EN71 certification mark.
EU EN71 testing period for model toys:
The EU EN71 testing cycle for model toys generally takes 5-7 working days
