What is EN71 certification?

EN71 is the normative standard for toy products in the EU market. Europe launched the EN71 certification decree for toys, the significance of which is to carry out technical specifications for toy products entering the European market through the EN71 standard, so as to reduce or avoid the harm of toys to children.

EN71 Toys Scope

Children's Products: Children's consumer products designed and produced by children 12 years of age or younger, including but not limited to children's toys and child care products.

Children's Toys: The design and production of consumer products for use by children 12 years of age or younger while playing.

Child Care: Designed for children three years old or younger, designed to assist children with sleep, feeding, or to assist children with sucking or teething.

Mouth-friendly toys: toys that can be sucked or chewed in the mouth (if only licking is not considered not in the mouth). If a toy or part measures less than 5 cm, it can be placed in the mouth depending on the size of the toy.

Toy EN71 certification preparation materials

1. 2-3 test samples are required;

2. Product manual or user manual;

3. Testing application form (our company provides the form);

4. Parts list (BOM).

EN71 Toy Test Handling Process

1. Determine the product testing items;

2. Fill in the Dezewei testing application form, determine the testing standards, and determine the testing age group;

3. Sample sending and receiving: the applicant shall arrange to send the sample;

4. Product testing, 3-5 working days, can be expedited;

5. Pass the test and issue a report.
