Food storage container German LFGB inspection process

Date:2024-04-23 09:59:21 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Food storage containers need to be tested by the German LFGB. LFGB is the German regulatory standard for food, beverages, cosmetics, daily necessities and feeds. It refers to the "Food, Beverages, Cosmetics, Daily Necessities and Feeds Code". LFGB certification mainly tests food contact materials, such as plastics, rubber, metal and other materials, to ensure that these products will not cause harm to human health.

German LFGB inspection process for food storage containers:

1. Prepare relevant materials: Enterprises need to prepare product information, raw material certificates, detailed product descriptions and instructions for use, etc. These materials should demonstrate the product's characteristics in detail to facilitate subsequent evaluation and testing.

2. Laboratory testing: Enterprises send samples to qualified laboratories for safety testing. These tests include but are not limited to dissolution testing, heavy metal detection, migration testing, etc., to comprehensively evaluate the impact of food storage containers on food safety.

3. Evaluation and audit: After the laboratory completes the test, the certification body will conduct a comprehensive evaluation and audit of the food storage container based on the test results to ensure that it meets the requirements of LFGB regulations.

4. Generate certification report: Once the product passes the test and audit, the certification body will generate a detailed certification report indicating whether the food storage container meets the LFGB standard.

5. Certificate issuance: Based on the report results, the certification agency will issue the corresponding LFGB certificate to the enterprise. This certificate is an important proof that the company's products comply with the requirements of LFGB regulations.

In addition, companies may also need to pay relevant testing fees and maintain communication with the certification body to ensure the smooth progress of the process.

It should be noted that the processing cycle for LFGB testing is usually 5 working days, which includes testing and audit time, as well as communication time between the company and the certification body. Therefore, when companies plan to launch or export products, they should consider and arrange the LFGB testing process in advance.
