Food processing appliances German LFGB certification testing process

Date:2025-03-05 10:17:42 Classification :【question】 Visits:
The testing process and key information of food processing appliances for German LFGB certification are summarized, combined with historical conversations and search results:

I. Testing process steps

1. Preliminary preparation and application

- Confirm the product scope: including electric kettles, toasters, blenders and other appliances with food contact parts.

- Material list submission: provide information on the materials of the parts in contact with food in the appliance (such as plastics, silicone, metal coatings, etc.).

2. Sample testing stage

- Chemical migration test: Detect the migration of harmful substances such as heavy metals (lead, cadmium), phthalates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) under high temperature conditions, which must meet the LFGB standard limit.

- Material stability test:

- Temperature resistance: simulate high temperature use environment (such as electric kettle heated to 100℃) to evaluate whether the material releases harmful substances or deforms.

- Wear resistance: test whether the coating (such as Teflon) falls off after repeated use.

- Additional electrical safety test: If it involves energized parts, it is necessary to verify insulation, pressure resistance, etc.

3. Document review and report generation

- Submit technical documents (design drawings, material composition table, production process description), and generate a test report after laboratory review.

- The cycle is usually 5-7 working days, and the expedited service can be shortened to 3 days.

4. Certification acquisition and logo use

- After passing the test, you will obtain the LFGB compliance report, and you can mark "LFGB Compliant" on the product packaging or instructions.

2. Core test items

1. Chemical safety

- Heavy metal migration (lead ≤0.01mg/dm², cadmium ≤0.005mg/dm²).

- Total amount of plasticizers (phthalates ≤0.1%).

2. Physical properties

- Material high temperature resistance test (such as deformation and precipitation detection after plastic parts are immersed in boiling water).

3. Special function test

- Appliances with heating function need to additionally evaluate the stability of the heating element in long-term use.
