RoHS testing report process for electronic and electrical equipment in China
1、 Pre preparation stage
1. Determine testing requirements and product scope
Clarify the category of the product (11 major categories of electrical and electronic products)
Confirm the hazardous substance items that need to be tested (6 items)
Determine whether the product has applicable exemption clauses
Collect technical information such as product BOM list and raw material list
2. Choose a testing institution
Confirm whether the institution has CMA/CNAS qualifications (Dezewei Testing CNAS registration number: L8083)
Verify whether the institution is on the list of recommended hazardous substance testing and certification institutions for electrical and electronic products by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
Understand the testing cycle and cost quotation
3. Submit application materials
|Material type | Specific content
|Product Information | Product Manual, Technical Specifications, BOM List
|Sample information | Sample quantity, model, batch
|Enterprise qualifications | Business license, authorization letter, etc
|Application Form | Fill in the Testing Application Form
2、 Sample inspection stage
1. Sample preparation and shipping
Prepare a sample quantity according to the requirements of the testing agency (usually 3-5 sets)
The sample must be consistent with the mass-produced product and no special treatment is allowed
Properly packaged to avoid damage during transportation
Please find attached the sample identification list
2. Sample reception and confirmation
Testing agencies verify sample information
Confirm the consistency between the sample and the application materials
Sign the testing contract and determine the testing plan
3、 Laboratory testing stage
1. Sample splitting and pretreatment
Split the product into homogeneous material layers
Pre treatment such as crushing, weighing, and digestion of each material
Prepare the test solution
2. Chemical analysis testing
|Testing methods | Applicable substances | Main equipment
|ICP-OES | Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Chromium | Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometer
|GC-MS | Polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers | Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
|UV Vis | Hexavalent chromium (colorimetric method) | UV visible spectrophotometer
3. Result judgment
Compare the test results with the limit standards
All 6 harmful substances must meet the limit requirements
Any item that exceeds the standard will be judged as unqualified
4、 Report issuance stage
1. Report preparation
Includes product information, testing criteria, testing methods, testing results, and judgment conclusions
Attach original records such as detection spectra, data tables, etc
2. Report review and issuance
Authorized signatory to review and confirm
Stamp with CMA/CNAS seal
Generate a unique report number
3. Report delivery and archiving
Deliver the formal testing report to the customer
Institutions retain original records (usually kept for 6 years)
If rectification is required, the enterprise needs to analyze the reasons and resubmit for inspection
5、 Precautions
Special reminder:
The testing cycle is generally 5-7 working days, and for urgent cases, it can be shortened to 3-5 days
The testing fee usually ranges from 2000 to 8000 yuan depending on the complexity of the product
The validity period of the report is generally 1 year, but if there are changes in raw materials or processes, retesting is required
