Guidelines for Obtaining MSDS/SDS Reports for Rubber Raw Materials

I. Why are MSDS/SDS Reports Required for Rubber Raw Materials?

Rubber raw materials (such as natural rubber, synthetic rubber, latex, and rubber additives) may involve organic solvents, plasticizers, sulfides, and other chemical substances during production, processing, storage, transportation, and use. These components pose potential hazards to human health and the environment. Obtaining MSDS/SDS reports is a mandatory requirement under the EU REACH regulation and the global GHS system, and is also a common compliance requirement for cross-border e-commerce platforms (such as Amazon) and downstream buyers.

II. Basic Process

1. Confirm Product Information and Composition

Provide a detailed formula table of the rubber raw material, including component ratios and CAS numbers, including all added components such as the main polymer, fillers, plasticizers, vulcanizing agents, accelerators, and antioxidants.

2. Select a Professional Testing Institution

Choose a laboratory with CMA/CNAS accreditation and familiarity with chemical raw material testing. Institutions with experience in REACH regulation services are recommended.

3. Submission of Samples and Documents

Rubber raw material sample (500g or more)

Product Technical Specifications

Ingredient Formulation (all added substances must be listed)

Application Form and Company Information

4. Laboratory Assessment and Preparation

The laboratory will conduct a hazard assessment of the product according to GHS classification standards and prepare an SDS document that meets the 16-item format requirements.

5. Review and Report Issuance

An SDS report will be issued in English or the target market language, bearing the official seal of the testing organization.

III. Main Contents of a Rubber Raw Material SDS Report

| Single Language Report Fee | 500 RMB

VI. Precautions

Formulation Completeness: Additives in rubber raw materials (such as vulcanizing agents, accelerators, antioxidants, etc.) often contain restricted chemicals. It is essential to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the formulation information; otherwise, it may affect the hazard assessment results.

Regulatory Updates: The EU REACH Regulation is continuously updated and supplemented with restricted substances. It is recommended to regularly review the SDS content to ensure it still complies with the latest requirements.

Version Management: After changes to the product formulation or process, the SDS report version must be updated promptly.
