TPD is the EU Directive 2014/40/EU, and the EU Tobacco Product Directive officially came into effect in May 2016. This directive is a rule formulated for the export of tobacco and related products to the EU. For example, there are strict regulations for the disclosure of ingredients, toxicological analysis, and production of E-liquid. At the same time, the directive stipulates that manufacturers or importers must conduct analysis of harmful components in smoke (emissions). How do I apply for EU TPD certification?

1. Preparation materials:

The applicant shall provide a copy or scanned copy of the business license;

The applicant shall provide a copy of the 2008 quality management system certification; Or a copy of ISO14001-2004 environmental management system certification; Or a copy of the GB/T28001-2011 Occupational Health and Safety System Certification; Or proof documents provided by other third-party organizations.


2. Fill out the application form:

The applicant shall fill out the "Product Compliance System Registration Application Form" and affix the official seal and signature of the legal representative. Attention: The application form must be submitted to the designated location before the specified time, otherwise it will be considered invalid! Please also ensure that the information provided is complete, accurate, and clear without errors! The applicant should fill in each item of information (such as name, address, etc.) in accordance with the format and requirements specified in the form.


3. Submission:

The applicant shall submit the original required materials and A4 printed 'EU TPd Certification Application Form' to the designated institution. Please note: All paper materials must be in Chinese text! It should also be noted that the 'EU TPd Certification Application Form' must be submitted to the designated location within the specified time, otherwise it will be considered invalid.


4. On site audit:

After receiving all written materials, the management organization shall review and verify the provided materials and arrange on-site audit work. (Note: If the on-site audit is not qualified, relevant documents need to be submitted.) The acceptance personnel will conduct a detailed inspection and evaluation of the factory's production process and products to see if they meet the requirements of relevant standards.

Products that have passed on-site audit can obtain reports and relevant numbers issued by TUV Rheinland Laboratory! (Note: Due to the different quality requirements of products in different countries or regions, the specific inspection procedures for each country may also vary!) The TPD certification cycle is usually about 15 working days (excluding shipping time), and the entire approval process can be completed and obtained in about a month.
