The Ceramic Bowl California 65 Test Project is a proposal by the state of California to increase attention to toxic chemicals that can be exposed, also known as CA65 or CP65.
The California 65 Act's testing program for ceramic bowls mainly focuses on the content of lead and cadmium. According to the bill, if the lead content of ceramic bowls exceeds the specified limit, a warning about external decoration needs to be attached to the product. The specific limit standards are:
1. The concentration of lead released from the food contact surface of flat ceramic tableware shall not exceed 0.226ppm.
2. The concentration of lead released from the food contact surface inside the ceramic hollow tableware shall not exceed 0.100ppm.
In addition to lead content, California Act 65 also stipulates that the content of lead and cadmium released from the lip range of products must not exceed 0.050 micrograms per milliliter and 4.00 micrograms per milliliter, respectively.
The California 65 testing process generally includes:
1. Confirm the product type, and the laboratory will determine the usage regulations and testing items based on the product type. Ceramic bowls need to pay attention to whether the content of lead and cadmium exceeds the limit specified by the law.
2. Confirm product testing material points, determine testing costs and sample quantity.
3. Prepare the samples and send them to the laboratory for testing.
4. Issue a test report if the test is qualified.
