Saudi Arabia issued the Technical Regulations on Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electrical Products (SASO RoHS) in 2021. Following the small household appliances, the regulations have been enforced on household appliances since October. Before entering the Saudi Arabian market, related products should meet their own technical regulations, It shall also meet the limit requirements for hazardous substances and provide RoHS test reports to the certification authority.

1-A small household appliances will be enforced on July 4, 2022. The product range is

Ice cream machine, yogurt machine, pressure cooker, equipment for sewing, knitting, textile and other textile processing operations, other cleaning devices, vacuum cleaners, food processing machines, electric knives, other kitchen machines, juice extractors, mixers, floor treatment machines and wet scrubbers, grinding machines, irons and other appliances for ironing, coloring and other clothing care, toasters, frying pans, kettle, coffee machines and tea making machines Steam bath, hand and face dryer, other household appliances for hair, nails, skin, body care and body massage, clocks and watches, and equipment for measuring, indicating or recording time.

1-B large household appliances will be enforced on October 2, 2022

Oven covers, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, appliances for cooling, preserving and storing food, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, household appliances for handling clothes (washing, ironing, drying, cleaning), dehumidifiers, stoves, ovens, electric hot plates, heating devices, electric incense burners, water heaters, boilers and other sanitary appliances.

Remarks: Non household appliances with dangerous sources to the public (such as appliances for the public to use in shops, light industries and farms) should be included in this category; When the gas and electrical appliances have electrical connections for primary or secondary functions (such as clock, ignition, etc.), they should also be included.

In addition, communication and information technology equipment will be forced to implement RoHS requirements on December 31. Customers are kindly requested to make preparations in advance to include RoHS reports in technical documents as soon as possible, so as to avoid blocking exports.
