How to handle the European Union ROHS report for razors?

Date:2024-01-23 10:38:48 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Shavers need to make a ROHS report. ROHS certification is a mandatory certification implemented by the European Union for electronic and electrical products imported and sold in the EU. It aims to ensure that products comply with the EU's environmental protection and safety requirements. As an electronic and electrical product, shavers also require ROHS certification. By applying for ROHS certification, you can ensure that razor products comply with EU directives and can be legally sold and used in the EU market.

ROHS testing items for shavers:

The ROHS testing project for razors mainly includes testing for six harmful substances contained in the product, including heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and certain brominated flame retardants. These hazardous substances may have negative effects on human health and the environment and therefore need to be restricted. Specifically, ROHS certification requires that these harmful substances must not be contained in razors, or the content must be lower than the limit specified in the directive.

In addition, according to the latest ROHS directive revision, four substances - diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), 2-hexyl phthalate (DEHP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) also need to be prioritized for assessment to examine whether to be included in the scope of restricted substances in the future.

Procedure for handling shaver ROHS report:

1. Fill in the application form: Applicants need to fill in the application form and provide basic information about the product, such as model, specification, quantity, etc.

2. Provide a product component list: Applicants need to provide a product component list, including raw materials, parts, etc.

3. The engineer determines the testing fee based on the product: The engineer will determine the testing fee based on the applicant's product type, specifications, etc.

4. Sample testing: Engineers will require applicants to send samples of corresponding specifications according to different product types. The laboratory will split the sample and feedback the split quantity and testing fee to the applicant.

5. Test passed: If the test results meet the requirements of the RoHS directive, the applicant can obtain the RoHS report.

6. Issuance of reports/certificates: The testing agency will issue corresponding reports and certificates to prove that the product meets the requirements of the RoHS directive.
