Guidelines for PI Tape POPs Test Report Processing: Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) refer to man-made chemical substances that can persist in the environment, accumulate through the food chain, and cause harmful effects on human health.

I. Basic Explanation of POPs Test Reports

POPS test reports are used to test for persistent organic pollutants (POPS) in PI tapes. This assessment evaluates the content of these highly toxic, recalcitrant, and bioaccumulative substances to ensure product compliance with regulations and mitigate potential harm to the environment and human health.

II. Core POPs Testing Items for PI Tape

PI tape is a non-metallic material. The common POPs testing items and limit requirements are as follows:

1. Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP): Content in the item must be less than 0.15%.

2. Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD): ≤100mg/kg for the item and flame-retardant portion.

3. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs): The sum of tetrabromo, pentabromo, hexabromo, and heptabromodiphenyl ethers in the item must be ≤500ppm.

4. PFOS/PFOA: PFOS ≤1000ppm, PFOA and its salts ≤0.025mg/kg.

5. Hexachlorobenzene (HBC): ≤10mg/kg in the substance, mixture, or item.

6. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs): These are prohibited substances; residue testing is required.

III. Detailed Processing Procedure

1. 1. **Clarify Regulatory Requirements:** First, confirm the POPs compliance standards of the target market, such as the specific restrictions of different regions under EU Regulation 2019/1021 and its 2022 amendments.

2. **Select a Compliant Testing Organization:** Choose a third-party testing organization with authoritative qualifications such as ISO/IEC 17025, CMA/CNAS (e.g., Dezewei Testing CNAS Registration No.: L8083) to ensure the legal validity of the report.

3. **Submit Application and Samples:**

Fill out the test application form and provide product information such as the material, composition, and application scenario of the PI tape.

Prepare representative samples as required by the organization; mail, on-site sampling, or self-delivery are supported.

4. **Sign a Service Contract:** Confirm the testing items, fees, cycle, and other details with the organization, sign a formal testing contract, and complete payment.

5. **Sample Testing and Analysis:** The organization uses high-precision technologies such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to complete the testing and conduct compliance analysis on the results.

6. Report Issuance and Confirmation:

A draft report will be provided upon completion of the test for your verification of sample information, test data, etc.

After verification, the organization will issue a formal POPS test report, including core sections such as sample information, testing methods, result comparison, and compliance conclusions.

7. Follow-up Services and Archiving: Technical consultation support is available upon request. It is also recommended to archive the report for future market supervision or client review needs.

IV. Core Regulatory Standards and Regulations Compliance

Internationally Applicable: Stockholm Convention

EU: Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 (replacing EU850/2004), the 2022 amendment clarifies that the limit for unintentional trace HBC contaminants is ≤10mg/kg.

Products must strictly comply with the corresponding regulatory substance restrictions to legally enter the target market.
