Alloy treatment agents fall within the scope of chemicals/preparations regulated by the EU REACH regulation. The process for obtaining a REACH test report is as follows:
1. Preliminary preparation and application
1. Select a testing agency: Choose a third-party testing agency recognized by the European Union (such as Det Norske Veritas Testing, CNAS registration number: L8083), and confirm that the agency can provide REACH SVHC testing services for chemical products.
2. Submit application materials: Fill out the REACH testing application form provided by the institution (clearly fill in required information such as company name, address, sample name, report language, and report collection method. If an English report is required, the institution can be entrusted to translate it); also provide information such as the composition description of the alloy treatment agent, product manual, material list, etc.
II. Quotation and Agreement Signing
1. The structural engineer determines the testing cost and duration based on the composition of the alloy treatment agent and the intended testing items (such as SVHC251 testing).
2. After confirming the quotation, the applicant shall sign the case filing service agreement and pay the full project fee.
III. Sample delivery
Send test samples according to the requirements of the institution: The alloy treatment agent is a liquid type, and a 50ml sealed sample is required (ensure that the container is free from damage or leakage). The specific number of samples can be confirmed through communication with the institution's staff before sending.
IV. Laboratory Testing
The laboratory conducts REACH compliance testing on samples, with core contents including:
1. Test whether the sample contains substances of very high concern (SVHC) regulated by REACH, and confirm whether its content exceeds the threshold of 0.1%;
2. Evaluate whether the substances in the sample comply with the REACH restriction requirements, and complete relevant testing procedures such as risk assessment.
V. Report issuance and completion
1. After passing the test, the institution will complete the REACH test report and first send the electronic version of the report to the applicant's email via email;
2. Subsequently, the original paper report will be sent according to the chosen report collection method on the application form, and the report will be uploaded to the official website of the institution for inquiry, marking the completion of the entire project.
Additional notes
1. If the content of SVHC substances in alloy treatment agents exceeds 0.1% and the annual import/production volume exceeds 1 ton, notification to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is also required;
2. If the formula and composition of the alloy treatment agent remain unchanged, the REACH test report remains valid for a long time; if the product is updated, it needs to be retested.
