Coffee maker set German LFGB certification test report

Date:2026-02-02 09:39:26 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Coffee maker sets fall under the category of kitchen appliances that come into direct contact with food, making them a mandatory product category for German LFGB certification. Below is comprehensive information on their LFGB certification test report:

I. Core Testing Basis and Necessity

LFGB, or the German Food and Commodities Act, represents the highest safety standard for food contact products in Germany, with a higher level of recognition than the EU's universally accepted EU 1935/2004 regulation. Coffee maker sets exported to Germany or sold in the German market must obtain an LFGB test report; otherwise, they face risks such as customs detention, market supervision investigations, and accusations from competitors. Furthermore, this report is recognized throughout the European market and serves as authoritative proof of product safety compliance.

II. Testing Items (Detailed by Coffee Maker Set Material)

Coffee maker sets typically include various materials such as a glass body, stainless steel filter/base, silicone sealing ring, and plastic control panel. Specific tests are required for each material:

1. General Mandatory Tests:

Sensory Testing (LFGB-specific Sections 30-31): Detects whether odors and tastes will transfer to food, ensuring no off-flavors or strange tastes affect food safety.

Total Migration Testing: Simulates food contact scenarios (different temperatures, different simulated food liquids, such as acidic and alcoholic substances), detecting the total amount of non-volatile substances in the material that can migrate to food.

2. Material-Specific Testing:

Glass/Ceramic Components: Detection of leached heavy metals (lead, cadmium, etc.)

Stainless Steel/Metal Components: Metal composition analysis, detection of leached heavy metals (lead, chromium, nickel, etc.)

Silicone Sealing Rings: Testing for transferable/volatile organic compounds, heavy metal leaching test

Plastic Components: Testing for transferable components, detection of specific migrating substances, heavy metal leaching test

Metal Coatings (e.g., heating plate coating): Coating leachate test, hexavalent chromium test (according to EN15205 standard)

III. Application Process

1. Initial Consultation: Provide the testing organization with information on the structure, material, and purpose of the coffee maker set. The organization will match the corresponding testing items (DEZEW Testing CNAS Registration No.: L8083)

2. Sample Preparation: Provide 2-3 complete coffee maker set samples, along with product material specifications and manufacturing process data.

3. Laboratory Testing: Professional testing will be conducted according to the above items. The cycle is usually 3-7 working days (may be longer for complex material combinations).

4. Report Issuance: Upon successful testing, the organization will issue an LFGB test report, which can be used for German customs declarations, audits on platforms such as Amazon, and customer factory inspections.

5. Mark Usage: Products can be affixed with the LFGB cutlery mark (mark height ≥ 5mm) to prove product compliance.

IV. Fee Explanation

LFGB certification fees are calculated based on the quantity of materials. The testing fee for each material is 1000-2000 RMB. If a coffee pot set contains 3 different materials, the total cost is approximately 1500-3000 RMB, depending on the actual complexity of the materials and the testing items.
