2、 Handling process

Provide a Bill of Materials (BOM) for the product, listing all components (shell, blade, motor, battery, PCB board, wire, etc.).

The laboratory evaluates the quantity of materials to be tested based on the BOM table and provides a quotation.

Step 2: Sample Preparation and Inspection

Key point: RoHS testing is for homogeneous materials.

This means that the entire shaver cannot be directly thrown into the machine for testing, it must be disassembled.

For example, the plastic shell is one material, the metal blade is one material, and the solder joints on the PCB board are another material.

Usually, 1-2 finished product samples need to be sent for laboratory disassembly testing.

Step 3: Laboratory testing

Splitting: The engineer disassembled the shaver into the smallest physical unit.

Screening: Use XRF (X-ray fluorescence spectrometer) for initial screening.

Chemical testing: If the XRF screening results are close to or exceed the limit, chemical wet testing (such as ICP-MS, GC-MS) will be performed to obtain accurate data.

Step 4: Issue a report

After passing the test, the laboratory will issue a RoHS test report.

The report will provide a detailed list of the test results for each component, such as the casing, blade mesh, and motor coil.

Many companies confuse the relationship between RoHS reporting and CE certification:

RoHS report: It is a test data certificate issued by a third-party laboratory (Dezewei Testing CNAS registration number: L8083).

CE certification: It is the "passport" for products to enter the European Union.

Relationship: RoHS is a part of CE certification. When obtaining CE certification, RoHS testing must be included. You can create a separate RoHS report or include it as part of the CE certification (LVD electromagnetic compatibility+RoHS).

1. Truthfully declare the material: accurately fill in the material in the BOM table to avoid testing failure due to concealing the material.

2. Internal pre inspection: Prior to inspection, suppliers may be required to provide environmental reports for raw materials (such as RoHS reports for plastic pellets) to reduce the risk of finished product testing.

3. Choose a compliance agency: Select a laboratory with CNAS (ISO/IEC 17025) qualifications to ensure that the report is recognized by EU customs and e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and TEMU.
