METI filing is a regulation of Japan's DENTORL Law (Electrical Equipment and Material Control Law), which requires Japanese purchasers to register with Japan METI within one month after purchasing goods within the scope of PSE certification, and must mark the name or ID of the purchaser on the product for supervision and management in the future product sales process.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) released the detailed information of the method, and its formulator is the Information Economy Division of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau of the department.

According to the report of "The Japanese Government Formulates a Blockchain Project Evaluation Method", METI calls this process a method to evaluate various use case projects, and evaluates 32 necessary features, such as scalability, privacy and overall reliability. Those involved in the development of the evaluation method said that its purpose was to objectively measure the blockchain project.


METI filing scope

After applying for PSE certification, you should go to METI for filing within one month: Japan's DENTORL Law (Electrical Equipment and Material Control Law) stipulates that 498 products must pass PSE certification before entering the Japanese market. Among them, 116 Class A products should obtain diamond PSE marks, and 341 Class B products should obtain round PSE marks.

Information required for METI filing

1. Application form for case opening;

2. PSE test report (for products with batteries or adapters, PSE test report is also required for batteries and adapters);

3. Product manual (Japanese+English);

4. Product specifications (BOM, product photos);

5. Discrepancy statement (if there are series models in the report).


METI filing process

1. The applicant shall provide application documents;

2. Submit the test report and relevant documents to the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Japan;

3. Registration of application documents;

4. Product brand design and confirmation.
