At the annual meeting held in Columbus, Ohio, the United States Mayor's Conference approved a resolution supporting the prohibition of all flavored tobacco products, including flavored Electronic cigarette, Menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars.
The smokeless children's movement (CTFK) welcomes this move.
"We thank the sponsors of this resolution for their strong leadership, including Andy Schor, Mayor of Lansing, Michigan, Justin Bibb, Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, Satya Rhodes Conway, Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin, and Alix Desulme, Mayor of North Miami, Florida," said John Boorman, Executive Vice President of CTFK America in a statement.
According to CTFK, the use of Electronic cigarette by teenagers is still a public health crisis caused by flavoring products.
The resolution also supports the ban on mint cigarettes.
