How to apply for EU ROHS testing of electronic clocks?

Date:2024-08-27 17:03:10 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Electronic clocks need to undergo EU RoHS testing. Especially when the electronic clock is designed to use AC power not exceeding 1000V and DC power not exceeding 1500V, it needs to comply with the requirements of the EU RoHS directive.

2. Submit application and prepare materials

1. Submit application:

Submit a RoHS testing application to the selected testing agency and pay the relevant fees.

2. Prepare materials:

Product technical documents: including product descriptions, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), etc.

Product samples: Ensure samples are sufficiently representative of the entire product line to enable a comprehensive assessment of hazardous substance content. The number of samples must be provided according to the requirements of the testing agency.

Previous test reports or compliance statements, if available, should also be provided.

3. Sample testing

1. Sample provided:

Provide samples in accordance with the requirements of the testing agency and ensure that the storage and handling of the samples will not affect the test results.

2. Detection and analysis:

The testing agency will conduct chemical analysis and laboratory testing on the samples to detect whether the harmful substances in them comply with RoHS standards. These harmful substances include lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), etc.

4. Reporting and Certification

1. Report generation:

Based on the test results, the testing agency will generate a RoHS test report detailing the content and compliance of hazardous substances in the sample.

2. Result evaluation:

After receiving the report, evaluate whether the product complies with RoHS requirements. If the sample passes the test, it will receive a RoHS certification certificate or related compliance documents; if it fails, corresponding measures must be taken to reduce or eliminate harmful substances and the sample must be resubmitted for testing.

3. Marking and recording:

Mark the RoHS mark on the product to indicate that the product complies with RoHS standards. At the same time, keep all test records and compliance statements for future inquiries or audits.
