Processing Procedures for Obtaining a Testing Report for Bamboo Fiber Paper Cups (China GB4806)
Bamboo fiber paper cups belong to the category of food contact paper and paperboard materials and products, and the applicable standard is GB4806.8.
Application Process
Step 1: Sample Submission and Testing
Prepare several finished product samples.
Provide product structure description, printing ink information (outer or inner layer), and waterproof coating description.
Submit to a third-party laboratory with CNAS/CMA accreditation (DEZEW Testing CNAS Registration No.: L8083).
Step 2: Laboratory Testing
Main Testing Items:
| Testing Item | Testing Requirements
| Lead (Pb) Migration | ≤ 3.0 mg/kg
| Arsenic (As) Migration | ≤ 1.0 mg/kg
| Formaldehyde Migration | ≤ 1.0 mg/dm²
| Fluorescent Whitening Substances | Not Detectable
| Coliform Bacteria | Not Detectable
| Pathogenic Pyogenic Bacteria | Not Detectable
| Mold (Yeast) | ≤ 50 CFU/g
| Total Migration of Immersion Solution | Evaporation Residue ≤ 30 mg/L
| Decolorization Test | Negative (to avoid ink contamination)
Testing cycle: approximately 5-7 working days; cost: approximately 1000-3000 RMB.
Step 3: Report Issuance
Upon successful testing, the laboratory will issue a CNAS/CMA test report.
Includes product information, test results, and conformity conclusion.
Step 4: Product Labeling
Qualified products must be labeled "For food contact use" and include material specifications.
Precautions
Bamboo fiber paper cups contain waterproof coatings (such as PE, PLA, or PLA film); special attention must be paid to total migration and specific migration amounts (such as PFAS, plasticizers, etc.).
The inner layer printing ink must undergo a decolorization test to prevent ink migration and food contamination.
Paper with added fluorescent whitening agents must not be used as food contact material.
Disposable products must be labeled "For single use only, do not reuse."
The test report must be kept for at least 2 years as proof of product release and market supervision spot checks.
