REACH is a chemical regulation established by the European Union aimed at ensuring human health and environmental safety. REACH chemical testing is the evaluation and testing of chemicals to ensure their safe use.
1、 What is the REACH testing project?
According to the requirements of REACH certification regulation 1907/2006/EC, if the following two situations are met, the producer and importer shall report to European Chemicals Agency (ECHA):
The concentration of SVHC in the product exceeds 0.1%,
2. Producer/importer products contain substances of high concern (SVHC) in quantities exceeding 1 ton per year.
2、 What is the process for REACH certification?
1. Certification consultation - providing product related information
2. Certification quotation - Evaluation of testing costs and time
3. Write application forms, sign back contracts, and sample express delivery
4. The laboratory conducts REACH testing on the sample
5. After testing, issue a REACH report
6. EACH certification report, invoice and other shipping services
3、 How much is a REACH certification cost?
The prices vary depending on the raw materials used in the product. For metal products, only 59 items need to be tested, while for non-metallic products, 191 items need to be tested, which is relatively expensive. The testing methods can be divided into separate testing and mixed testing.
The metal group material undergoes REACH certification, and the current testing cost ranges from 1000 to 1500.
The non-metallic group materials are subject to REACH certification, and the current testing cost is between 2500 and 3000.
4、 How long does the REACH certification cycle take?
Usually, the application time for REACH certification for products is around one week. For more complex products, the REACH certification time is relatively longer.
5、 What is the validity period of REACH certification?
There is no so-called validity period for REACH certification of products. If the products previously applied for REACH certification have not changed, the REACH report can be used continuously.
6、 What is the purpose of conducting REACH testing?
(1) Submit hazardous chemical information
(2) Assessing and Managing the Harmfulness of Chemicals
(3) Register this chemical for all purposes
(4) Encourage the development of the following industries
(5) Substances with less health hazards
(6) Substances with less environmental harm
(7) Support EU authorities to take faster action on the risks and hazards of chemical use.
(8) Improving the competitiveness of EU chemical enterprises will be a good medicine for economic development
(9) Developing methods for assessing harmful substances
(10) Ensure free circulation of substances in the EU internal market
