The elements required for a children's product certificate (CPC) must be demonstrated by manufacturers and importers of children's products in the form of a written Children's Product Certificate (CPC), which is based on a laboratory recognized by CPSC and whose children's products comply with applicable children's product safety regulations. The CPC and supported test reports must be in English.
Elements required for CPC
1. Identification of the products covered by this certificate: Provide a detailed description of the products covered by this certificate, so that the certificate matches each product it covers and does not match other products.
2. Reference each CPSC child product safety rule certified by this product: The certificate must separately identify each child product safety rule applicable to the child product.
3. Identification of the importer or domestic manufacturer that certifies product compliance: Provide the name, complete mailing address, and phone number of the importer or domestic manufacturer that certifies the product.
4. Contact information of personnel maintaining test result records: Provide the name, complete mailing address, email address, and phone number of personnel maintaining test records to support certification.
5. The manufacturing date and location of the product: For the manufacturing date of the product, please provide at least the month and year. For the manufacturing location, at least provide the city (or administrative region), state (if applicable), and country where the product is manufactured or finally assembled. If the same manufacturer operates in multiple locations in the same city, please provide the street address of the factory.
6. Provide the date and location for testing whether the product complies with the above consumer product safety regulations: Provide the report based on the certification of the testing location and testing date.
7. Identify any third-party, CPSC recognized laboratory on which the certificate relies: Provide the name, complete mailing address, and phone number of the laboratory. Registered small batch manufacturers do not require third-party testing of their products according to certain child product safety requirements. Companies must include the registration number provided by CPSC in this section of the CPC. Small batch manufacturers of registered products must still comply with applicable child product safety regulations.
