How to apply for EU ROHS testing and certification for air purifiers?

Date:2024-01-09 09:57:29 Classification :【question】 Visits:
EU ROHS testing and certification is an environmental standard designed to restrict the use of certain harmful substances in electronic and electrical equipment. As a type of electronic and electrical equipment, air purifiers also need to comply with this standard.

Steps to apply for EU ROHS testing and certification:

1. Understand the requirements of the EU ROHS directive: The full name of the EU ROHS directive is the "Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electrical Equipment", which aims to restrict the use of specific hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment. It is necessary to understand the six hazardous substances listed in the directive and their limit values, and ensure that products do not contain these substances.

2. Select a testing agency: You need to choose a qualified testing agency for EU ROHS testing and certification. These institutions usually have National Metrology Accreditation (CMA) and National Laboratory Accreditation Service (CNAS) qualifications and are able to conduct accurate testing and evaluation.

3. Submit application and samples: Submit application form and samples to the testing agency. The application form should include product-related information, such as name, brand, model, etc. Samples need to comply with relevant standards and regulations and ensure that they meet testing requirements.

4. Laboratory testing: The testing agency tests the samples to ensure that they comply with relevant standards and regulations. Test content may include physical properties, material composition, harmful substance content, etc.

5. Issuance of reports and certificates: If the sample tests pass, the testing agency will issue a ROHS test report and certificate to prove that the product complies with relevant standards and regulations and can be sold in the EU market.

6. Continuous compliance inspection: For products sold in the EU market, continuous compliance inspection is also required to ensure that the product still meets the requirements of the ROHS directive after being put on the market.

Air purifier EU ROHS testing cycle:

The EU ROHS testing cycle for air purifiers usually takes 5-7 working days
