Pallets exported to Italy require food contact material testing. According to Italian regulations, food contact materials need to undergo relevant testing to ensure their safety. Testing items include comprehensive migration testing, dissolvable heavy metal testing, color migration testing, etc. Only materials that comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements are allowed to be used in the manufacture of food contact pallets.



Tray Italian DM food contact material testing project:

1. Comprehensive migration testing: Comprehensive migration testing is the detection of substances that are transferred from materials in contact with food to food during normal use and normal handling. Detection methods include deionized water leaching, 3% acetic acid leaching, 10% alcohol leaching, olive oil or olive oil substitute (95% ethanol and isooctane) leaching, etc.

2. Dissolvable heavy metal detection: Dissolvable heavy metal detection is the detection of heavy metals leached from materials in contact with food, such as lead, cadmium, chromium, nickel, etc. These heavy metals may cause harm to human health and therefore require strict control.

3. Color migration detection: Color migration detection is the detection of pigments or other color substances transferred to food during long-term use of materials in contact with food. If these color substances are transferred to food, they may affect the appearance and quality of the food.



Information required for tray Italian DM food contact material testing:

1. Sample information table: Provide basic information about the sample, such as name, model, specification, quantity, etc.

2. Ingredient list: Provide all ingredients contained in the tray, including raw materials, additives, pigments, etc.

3. Manufacturing process flow chart: Provide the manufacturing process flow chart of the pallet, including the source of raw materials, processing process, production date, etc.

4. List of packaging materials: Provide a list of packaging materials used for the pallet, such as cartons, plastic bags, etc.

5. Supplier’s quality certificate: If the raw materials or packaging materials of the pallet come from the supplier, the supplier’s quality certificate or other relevant supporting documents are required.
