Plastic products EU reach testing and certification

Date:2024-03-15 09:45:21 Classification :【question】 Visits:
EU REACH testing and certification of plastic products means that before plastic products are sold in the EU market, they need to be tested and certified in accordance with EU REACH regulations to ensure that they comply with relevant standards and requirements. REACH regulations are EU regulations on the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals. It requires that all chemicals and products sold on the EU market must be registered and evaluated to ensure that they do not contain chemical substances harmful to human health and the environment.

EU reach testing projects for plastic products:

1. Physical and chemical property testing: This includes testing of physical and chemical properties such as density, melting point, boiling point, flash point, viscosity, etc. In addition, it may also include testing of specific items such as relative density, ignition point, and autoignition temperature.

2. Toxicological testing: This category includes testing of toxicological indicators such as acute toxicity, chronic toxicity, irritation, and allergy, aiming to evaluate the potential impact of plastic products on human health.

3. Ecotoxicological testing: This includes environmental toxicological testing such as environmental persistence, bioaccumulation, and biodegradability to evaluate the potential impact of plastic products on the environment.

4. Analytical method testing: This may involve testing of analytical methods such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS) to determine specific chemical substances or components in plastic products.

5. Specific substance testing: According to the SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) list in the REACH regulations, these harmful substances in plastic products are tested to ensure that their content is lower than the limit specified by the regulations.

EU reach inspection and testing of plastic products:

1. Chemical safety performance testing is an important part of REACH testing. This includes testing for harmful substances that may be present in plastic products, such as explosive, oxidizing, corrosive substances, etc. At the same time, additives in plastic products, such as plasticizers, flame retardants, etc., will also be tested to evaluate the impact of these additives on human health and the environment. In addition, detection of heavy metal elements is also necessary to ensure that the heavy metal content in plastic products is within the specified range.

2. Ecotoxicity performance testing is designed to evaluate the potential impact of plastic products on the environment. This includes testing of acute toxicity, chronic toxicity, mutagenicity, teratogenicity, etc. of plastic products. Through these tests, it is possible to determine whether plastic products cause harm to the ecosystem and determine whether they meet the EU's ecological safety standards.

3. Testing of physical and chemical properties is also an integral part of REACH testing. This includes testing of physical and chemical indicators such as relative density, ignition point, and auto-ignition temperature of plastic products. These tests help to understand the basic physical properties of plastic products and determine whether there are safety hazards during use.
