As a kind of electronic and electrical equipment, perfume atomizers need to comply with the requirements of the RoHS directive when exported to the EU. The RoHS directive is a directive that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment, aiming to protect the environment and human health.
EU ROHS testing items for perfume atomizers:
When perfume atomizers undergo RoHS testing in the EU, it mainly involves the detection and restriction of harmful substances that may be present in the equipment. According to the RoHS directive, these hazardous substances include lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).
In addition, the RoHS 2.0 directive also adds four phthalate esters as restricted substances, including di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), n-butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), phthalate (2-hexyl)hexyl dicarboxylate (DEHP) and hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD). These substances may have adverse effects on the environment and human health under certain circumstances.
Therefore, when perfume atomizers undergo RoHS testing in the EU, they need to detect whether these harmful substances exceed the limit requirements stipulated in the directive. If a product contains these hazardous substances and exceeds the limit, it will fail RoHS testing and may not be sold in the EU market.
EU ROHS testing process for perfume atomizers:
1. Determine the testing scope: First, it is necessary to clarify the specific material composition of the perfume atomizer and the harmful substances that may be contained in order to determine which testing items need to be carried out.
2. Prepare samples: According to the requirements of the testing agency, provide a certain number of perfume atomizer samples for testing.
3. Submit a testing application: Submit a testing application to the testing agency and provide relevant product information, technical specifications and materials.
4. Testing by testing institutions: The testing institutions disassemble and analyze the samples to detect whether the content of harmful substances exceeds the limit requirements stipulated in the RoHS directive. This typically includes steps such as chemical analysis and instrumental testing.
5. Issue a test report: The testing agency issues a RoHS test report based on the test results to indicate whether the perfume atomizer meets the requirements of the RoHS directive.
6. Evaluation and improvement: If the test results do not meet the requirements, the company needs to make improvements based on the recommendations in the test report and resubmit the sample for testing until it meets the requirements.
