EU ROHS testing process for inflatable seat cushions

Date:2024-03-25 09:49:48 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Inflatable seat cushions need to undergo EU RoHS testing. The EU RoHS directive is a regulation issued by the European Union that requires the restriction of the use of certain harmful substances in electronic and electrical equipment, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated biphenyls. Diphenyl ether (PBDE) and other substances.

EU ROHS testing items for inflatable seat cushions:

1. Lead (Pb): Lead is a common harmful substance that mainly exists in solder, glass, ceramics, sunscreens and plastics. In inflatable seat cushions, lead content is usually detected using X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) or chemical analysis.

2. Mercury (Hg): Mercury is a toxic metal mainly found in fluorescent lamps, switches, connectors and temperature sensors. Mercury content in inflatable seat cushions is usually detected using chemical analysis.

3. Cadmium (Cd): Cadmium is a metal harmful to the environment and human health. It is commonly found in batteries, switches, springs, connectors and displays. The detection of cadmium content is also carried out by chemical analysis.

4. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+): Hexavalent chromium is a highly toxic substance that is usually found in coatings on metal surfaces, electrochemical products, fasteners and rubber products. The content of hexavalent chromium in inflatable seat cushions is also detected using chemical analysis.

EU ROHS testing process for inflatable seat cushions:

1. Application and preparation:

Applicants first need to fill in the RoHS testing application form and provide detailed technical documents for the inflatable seat cushion, including material list, drawings and specifications.

Applicants also need to prepare a certain number of inflatable seat cushion samples for testing by the testing agency.

2. Selection of testing institutions:

Applicants need to choose a third-party testing agency with RoHS testing qualifications and experience to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.

3. Confirmation of testing fees:

The staff of the testing agency will determine the testing fee based on the material, color and other information provided.

After confirming the quotation, the applicant signs an application form and service agreement with the testing agency, and pays the full project fee.

4. Sample testing:

The testing agency conducts detailed testing on inflatable seat cushion samples, including testing for the content of harmful substances such as lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), and hexavalent chromium (Cr6+).

The testing process may include sample pre-treatment (such as cleaning, decomposition, etc.), and the use of appropriate testing equipment and methods to analyze the sample.

5. Issuance of test report:

The testing agency issues a RoHS test report based on the test results. The report will list the test results of various indicators in detail and determine whether the product meets the requirements of the RoHS directive.

6. Audit and certification:

The applicant submits the RoHS test report to the buyer or certification agency in the EU for review.

After passing the review, the inflatable seat cushion can be sold on the EU market.
