Desktop fan European Union ROHS inspection process

Date:2024-05-16 10:45:55 Classification :【question】 Visits:
When exporting small desktop fans to the EU, they need to undergo EU RoHS testing. The RoHS standard is an important environmental regulation that aims to protect the environment and human health and restrict hazardous substances used in electronic and electrical equipment.

Desktop small fan EU ROHS testing items:

1. Lead (Pb): Common in solder, glass, PVC stabilizers and other products.

2. Cadmium (Cd): Commonly found in switches, springs, connectors, casings, PCBs (printed circuit boards), contacts, batteries and other products.

3. Mercury (Hg, i.e. mercury): Commonly found in thermostats, sensors, switches and relays, light bulbs and other products.

4. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+): mainly used for metal corrosion coatings.

5. Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs): Commonly used as flame retardants, they are also found in PCBs, connectors, plastic casings and other products.

6. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs): It is also a brominated flame retardant and is also included in the RoHS testing items.

EU ROHS testing process for small desktop fans:

1. Document preparation:

Check the product’s technical documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), drawings, specifications, etc.

Understand the requirements of the RoHS directive and conduct research on testing standards.

Determine the sampling volume and testing method for testing.

2. Material sampling:

Select representative samples from the product for sampling.

Select the appropriate test method based on the characteristics of the product and the requirements of the RoHS directive.

Ensure the accuracy and representativeness of the sampling process.

3. Sample testing:

Preprocessing of samples may include cleaning, decomposition and other steps.

Samples are analyzed using appropriate testing equipment and methods.

Determine the content of harmful substances in the samples, including lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), etc.

4. Data analysis:

Compare test results with the requirements of the RoHS directive.

Analyze test data to determine whether the product complies with the restrictions of the RoHS directive.

If it does not meet the requirements, it is necessary to resubmit samples for testing of materials that exceed the standard until they are qualified.

5. Issue reports and certificates:

After passing the test, a RoHS test report and certificate will be issued.

Send the certificate report and complete the testing process.

6. Submit for review:

Submit the RoHS compliance statement and test report to buyers or certification agencies in the EU for review.

After passing the review, the product can be sold in the EU market.
