EU ROHS testing process for vacuum cleaners

Date:2024-12-31 10:22:51 Classification :【question】 Visits:
As a type of household appliance, vacuum cleaners must undergo EU ROHS testing and certification when entering the EU market for sale. The main purpose of ROHS testing and certification is to ensure that products do not contain excessive harmful substances, such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers. The following is the procedure for EU ROHS testing of vacuum cleaners:

1. Determine applicable standards

Vacuum cleaners need to comply with the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and its amendments, understand the specific content limits of relevant restricted substances, and ensure that product design and material selection comply with these standards.

2. Choose the appropriate testing agency

Choose a third-party testing agency with RoHS certification qualifications for testing. These institutions should be accredited by the EU and be able to provide accurate and reliable test results.

3. Prepare samples and technical information

Enterprises need to prepare vacuum cleaner samples to be tested, as well as relevant technical information, such as bill of materials, manufacturing process instructions, product drawings, etc. This information will be used to support the testing process.

4. Conduct laboratory tests

The testing agency conducts harmful substance content testing on vacuum cleaner samples, including the following items:

- Lead (Pb)

- Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI)

-Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)

The test results must be within the limits specified by the RoHS directive. If the vacuum cleaner passes the test, the testing agency will issue a RoHS compliance test report. The report contains detailed test results and conclusions, proving that the product complies with the requirements of the RoHS directive.

5. Apply for certification

After completing all tests and inspections, the manufacturer can submit an application to the certification body and provide corresponding test reports and certification materials. The certification body will review the application and issue a RoHS certification after passing the review.

6. Report mailing

Mail the test report to the applicant to complete the entire testing process.

Through the strict ROHS certification process, companies can ensure that vacuum cleaner products comply with the environmental protection and safety standards of the EU market and provide consumers with safe and reliable products.
