PU Ball (Polyurethane Ball) Amazon CPC Testing Project Guide
I. CPC Certification Core Requirements
CPC is Amazon's mandatory compliance certification for children's products. If PU balls are used as children's toys (such as soft sports balls and baby tactile balls), they must meet the following requirements:
1. Applicable standards:
- ASTM F963-23: US Toy Safety Standard (latest version).
- CPSIA: US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (lead and phthalate restrictions).
2. Certification Scope:
- PU balls for children aged 12 and under must pass third-party laboratory testing and issue CPC certificates.
II. PU Ball CPC Testing Core Projects
1. Physical and Mechanical Performance Test
- Small Parts Test:
Detect whether PU balls may shed small parts (such as surface coating fragments) to prevent swallowing risks (applicable to products for children under 3 years old).
- Tension and torque test:
Simulate children's biting or pulling behavior to ensure that the ball structure is firm (tension ≥ 70N, torque ≥ 0.34N·m).
- Sharp edge and point inspection:
Use a magnifying glass or touch to evaluate whether there are dangerous sharp edges on the surface (must comply with 16 CFR 1500.48/49).
2. Chemical safety test
- Heavy metal migration:
8 elements including lead (Pb≤100 ppm) and cadmium (Cd≤75 ppm) (ASTM F963-23, 8.3.1).
