EVA foam EU ROHS testing process

Date:2025-03-21 09:38:03 Classification :【question】 Visits:
As a new type of environmentally friendly material, EVA foam is widely used in various fields. In order to ensure that it meets the requirements of the EU RoHS Directive, corresponding testing is required. The following is the basic process of EVA foam EU RoHS testing:

1. Fill in the application form

First, the applicant needs to fill in the RoHS testing application form. The application form usually includes the following information:

- Product name

- Product model

- Manufacturer information

- Contact information

- Product use

- Material description

2. Provide product information

The applicant needs to provide detailed product information to the testing agency, including the material, production process, and usage scenario of the product. This information helps the testing agency evaluate the testing items and costs.

3. Quotation and confirmation

The testing agency conducts a preliminary evaluation and quotes based on the product information provided by the applicant. The quotation usually includes testing fees, testing cycles, etc. After the applicant confirms the quotation, the two parties sign a service agreement.

4. Prepare test samples

The applicant needs to prepare and submit test samples in accordance with the requirements of the testing agency. The quantity and specifications of the samples should meet the testing standards. For complex multi-material products, it may be necessary to split the product into the smallest unit.

5. Laboratory testing

The testing agency conducts RoHS testing on the submitted samples according to relevant testing standards. The test items usually include the following hazardous substances:

- Lead (Pb) ≤ 0.1%

- Cadmium (Cd) ≤ 0.01%

- Mercury (Hg) ≤ 0.1%

- Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) ≤ 0.1%

- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) ≤ 0.1%

- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) ≤ 0.1%

- Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) ≤ 0.1%

- Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) ≤ 0.1%

- Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) ≤ 0.1%

- Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) ≤ 0.1%

6. Issue a test report

After the test is completed, the testing agency will issue a RoHS test report. The report usually includes the following:

- Product information

- Test items

- Test results

- Whether it complies with the requirements of the RoHS Directive

7. Certification and follow-up

If the product passes the test, the applicant can obtain a RoHS certification certificate. For products that fail the test, the applicant needs to improve the product material or production process according to the suggestions in the test report and resubmit the test.

Test cycle

The test cycle of EVA foam RoHS test generally takes 5-7 working days, but the test report can also be issued in 3 days.

Through the above process, EVA foam can complete the EU RoHS test to ensure that it meets the EU market access requirements.
