Distinguish the difference between reach and rohs

Date:2022-09-09 10:23:05 Classification :【question】 Visits:

There are reach regulations and rohs regulations in EU regulations. Aside from the understanding of the two, it can be literally two kinds of tests, but... in fact, they are two kinds of tests (you understand that right), absolutely not. may become one. If the cognition of the two is only half-understood, it will be easy to confuse the two, and it will be foolish to distinguish between them.

Why? Both are chemical testing (common point), if you don't understand, there will be reach regulations and rohs regulations in the end.

rohs? What is rohs? What products can be used to do rohs?

rohs testing is the EU's environmental protection certification. It is the EU's directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. , Electronic products contain harmful heavy metals such as lead Pb, cadmium Cd, mercury Hg, hexavalent chromium Cr6+, polybrominated diphenyl ether PBDE and polybrominated biphenyl PBB.

Six updates of rohs testing items have been extended to ten items of ROHS2.0

Test content

Lead (Pb): 0.1%;

Mercury: 0.1%;

Cadmium: 0.01%;

Hexavalent chromium compounds: 0.1%;

Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB): 0.1%;

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE): 0.1%;

Dihexyl (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): 0.1%;

Tolyl butyl phthalate (BBP): 0.1%;

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): 0.1%;

Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): 0.1%.

The products mainly involve restricted use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, such as home appliances, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, audio, video products, DVD/CD, TV receivers, IT products, digital products, Communication, power tools, electric electronic toys, etc.

reach? What is reach? What products can be used to reach?

reach testing is the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals and the reach directive is the EU's preventive measure for all chemicals entering its market The regulations on sex management came into effect on June 1, 2007. The chemical white paper REACH proposed by the European Commission in February 2001, and the relevant regulations were officially issued in the first quarter of 2007, which took effect in all member states.

The main content of reach is to prove that daily products do not contain harmful chemical substances. Therefore, all daily-use products produced in the EU or imported into the EU market, which mainly refer to textiles, must pass the registration, inspection and approval of the content of harmful chemical substances, and once the content exceeds the specified content, they cannot be sold in the EU market.

The difference between reach and rohs

Dezewei testing: reach is different from the rohs directive. The scope of reach is much wider. In fact, it will affect products and manufacturing processes in almost all industries from mining to textiles and garments, light industry, electromechanical and other industries. Reach requires manufacturers to register every chemical ingredient in a product, about 30,000 in all - and to weigh its potential harm to public health. REACH established the idea that society should not casually introduce new materials, products or technologies whose potential hazards are uncertain.

Note:

reach has been updated to 224 items in 27 batches, and public consultation opinions on 9 potential SVHC substances in 28 batches are currently being released. Details: https://www.deesev.com/regulations/306.html.

rohs has been updated to test ten items. On May 20, 2022, the European Commission published a proposal procedure for restricted substances in the ROHS Directive (2011/65/EU) on its official website. The proposal plans to add tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) to the list of ROHS restricted substances. If approved, the ROHS directive restricted substances will be increased from 10 to 12. According to the procedures, the European Commission plans to complete the final decision in the fourth quarter of 2022, and the final control requirements will be subject to the final decision of the European Commission.
