Definition of food contact materials:
Materials that will be in direct, indirect or possible contact with food. In addition, the testing requirements and standards for food contact materials are different in different countries, mainly to see where the export destination is, such as EU EU1935/2004/EC, Germany LFGB, France DGCCRF, Japan JFSL370, South Korea KFDA, China GB4806 standards, etc. Today, we will focus on the Chinese GB4806 food contact material testing standard.
The GB4806 standard was issued in 2016 and officially implemented in 2017. As long as products that may come into contact with food, they must meet the requirements of the food-grade GB4806 standard, which is mandatory.
GB4806 Control range:
1. Polyethylene "PE": there are plastic packaging bags, packaging boxes, fresh-keeping films, plastic film bags, etc.
2. PET Polyethylene terephthalate: mineral water, carbonated drinks, and such products have certain storage conditions.
3. HDPE High Density Polyethylene: soymilk machine, milk bottle, juice drink, tableware for microwave oven, etc.
4. PS "Polystyrene": instant noodles boxes, fast food boxes and materials cannot contain acidic and alkaline food.
5. Ceramic/enamel: common ones include teacups, bowls, plates, teapots, pots, etc.

Test process of food-grade test report:
1. Consult a qualified testing agency -- the applicant provides product data, pictures and descriptions;
2. Quotation -- determine the items to be tested and quote according to the information provided by the applicant;
3. The applicant fills in the test application form and submits it to the laboratory together with the test sample;
4. Sample test - the test will be conducted according to the applicable standards;
5. The laboratory issues a test report.
