The Japanese toy industry has established safety standards for toys designed for children aged 14 and under. Although participating in the ST logo system is voluntary, almost all toys designed for children aged 14 and under currently have the ST logo.
Toys and game equipment that comply with the Japanese Toy Safety Standards adopted by the Japan Toy Association can display the ST logo on their product labels. In order to obtain the qualification to use the ST logo, the manufacturer or importer needs to first sign an agreement with the Toy Association to use the ST logo, and then submit samples for safety standard compliance testing to the designated testing agency.
