This release involves two product standards for food contact materials, including the newly revised GB 4806.8-2022 "National Food Safety Standard for Food Contact Paper and Cardboard Materials and Products" and the newly released GB 4806.12-2022 "National Food Safety Standard for Food" Contact Bamboo and Wood Materials and Products". The effective date of GB 4806.8-2022 is June 30, 2023, and the effective date of GB 4806.12-2022 is December 30, 2022.
The main contents of the revision of "Food Contact Paper and Cardboard Materials and Products" are as follows:
1. Increased scope of application: not applicable to food contact materials and products made of regenerated cellulose film (cellophane).
2. Added the physical and chemical indicators 1.3-dichloro-2-propanediol, 3-chloro-1,2-propanediol residue limit;
a.1.3-Dichloro-2-propanediol: not detectable (DL=2μg/L);
b. 3-Chloro-1,2-propanediol: ≤12μg/L;
3. Deleted the requirement of potassium permanganate consumption index.
4. Add other technical requirements: the food contact paper and cardboard materials and products using materials such as coatings, inks and (or) adhesives should also meet the corresponding national food safety standards such as coatings, inks and (or) adhesives. Regulation.
The main contents of GB 4806.12-2022 "National Food Safety Standard - Bamboo and Wood Materials and Products for Food Contact" are as follows:
1. Sensory requirements
a. Sensory: normal color, no burrs, moth-eaten, odor, mildew or other dirt;
b. Soaking liquid: The soaking liquid obtained from the migration test should not have any deterioration of sensory properties such as precipitation, odor, abnormal coloring, etc.
2. Physical and chemical indicators
A: Migration indicator
B: Residue indicator
C: Other physical and chemical indicators: It should comply with the provisions of GB 9685 and relevant announcements on physical and chemical indicators such as specific migration limits, specific total migration limits and maximum residues of oils, waxes and other additives.
3. Microbial indicators
Microbial indicators: Microorganisms of bamboo and wood materials and products that are expected to be in direct contact with food and used directly without disinfection or cleaning shall comply with the provisions of GB 14934. Except for contacting bamboo and wood materials and products.
4. Other technical requirements
Other technical requirements: Bamboo and wood materials and products for food contact using materials such as coatings, inks and (or) adhesives shall also comply with the provisions of the corresponding national food safety standards such as coatings, inks and (or) adhesives.
5. Label requirements: should comply with the provisions of GB 4806.1.
