The Tobacco Products Center (CTP) of the US Food and Drug Administration requires the nomination of a non voting representative representing the interests of the tobacco manufacturing industry as a member of the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee (TPSAC) by October 11, 2023. Individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by any interested individual or organization.
In addition, CTP is seeking any industry organization interested in participating in the election of the TPSAC's non voting representative.
The nomination materials for potential TPSAC candidates and letters from industry organizations interested in participating in the selection process should be sent to CTP by October 11, 2023. For more detailed information on the nomination and selection process, please refer to the notice in the Federal Register.
TPSAC provides advice to CTP on its responsibilities related to tobacco product regulation. The committee reviews and evaluates safety, dependency, and health issues related to tobacco products, and provides appropriate advice, information, and recommendations to FDA commissioners.
