How to handle metal EU reach testing?

Date:2024-01-05 10:17:37 Classification :【question】 Visits:
EU REACH testing refers to the EU's regulations for preventive management of all chemicals entering its market, aiming to ensure that the production and use of chemical substances are safe for human health and the environment. REACH testing is part of the EU REACH regulations, which requires chemical testing of all products imported into the EU to ensure that they do not contain substances harmful to human health or the environment.

Metal EU REACH testing items:

1. Composition analysis test: Qualitative and quantitative analysis of metal elements in the product, including common elements such as copper, lead, cadmium, chromium, zinc, nickel, etc.

2. Release test: By simulating actual use conditions, the release amount of metal compounds in the product is determined, which depends on factors such as product contact time, contact medium, temperature, etc.

3. Food contact material testing: Test food contact materials containing metal compounds to evaluate whether they meet relevant standards, including the release amount, uniformity, mobility, etc. of metal elements.

4. Environmental adaptability test: Test the stability of products containing metal compounds under different environmental conditions, such as the amount of metal ions released in high temperature, low temperature, humidity and other environments.

5. Mechanical property testing: such as hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, etc.

6. Metallographic test: observe the internal structure of the metal and check the microstructure of the material.

7. Chemical composition testing: Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the chemical composition of metals.

8. Coating test: Check the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating.

9. Dimensional test: measure whether the size of the metal meets the requirements.

10. Non-destructive testing: Use various non-destructive testing techniques to check whether there are cracks, pores and other defects in the metal.

11. Salt spray test: simulates the corrosion of metals in the marine environment.

Metal EU REACH testing process:

1. Understand the REACH regulations and confirm the product scope.

2. Choose a suitable testing agency and ensure it has qualifications and experience.

3. Prepare samples and provide product-related information.

4. Fill out the REACH testing application form and provide a list of product components that need to be tested.

5. Determine the REACH testing fee based on the color of the provided material.

6. After confirming the quotation, sign the application form and service agreement, pay the full REACH testing fee, and prepare the testing samples.

7. The testing agency conducts REACH testing, which generally takes 5-7 working days, and can be processed on an expedited basis.

8. After the test is completed, relevant laboratory personnel will send an electronic version of the report to the applicant. If a paper version is required, the testing agency can also be asked to send a paper version of the report.

9. Confirm receipt of the original report and completion of REACH testing.
