What are the testing items for EU REACH certification of bathroom products?

Date:2024-02-22 11:23:10 Classification :【question】 Visits:
EU REACH testing and certification is the EU's regulation for the preventive management of all chemicals entering its market, which is the abbreviation of "Regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals". This regulation requires the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals produced, imported and used within the EU to ensure that the effects of these chemicals on human health and the environment are reasonably controlled.

The testing items for EU REACH certification of sanitary ware products mainly include the following aspects:

1. Physical and chemical property testing: This may include the measurement of density, melting point, boiling point, solubility, vapor pressure and other properties to ensure that the physical and chemical properties of the product meet relevant standards.

2. Toxicity testing: This includes testing of acute toxicity, chronic toxicity, corrosiveness, irritation, etc. on sanitary ware products to evaluate the potential harm of products to the human body.

3. Environmental behavior testing: This includes evaluating the durability, stability, biodegradability, etc. of the product in the environment to ensure that the product will not cause long-term pollution to the environment.

4. Ingredient analysis: Conduct detailed analysis and testing of each ingredient of bathroom products to ensure that they comply with EU restrictions and standards. This may include heavy metal content, organic material content, inorganic material content, etc.

5. SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) screening: SVHC refers to chemical substances that have carcinogenic, mutagenic, reproductive toxicity, persistence, bioaccumulation and toxicity properties. Bathroom products need to be screened for SVHC to ensure that they do not contain SVHC or that the level of SVHC is below the prescribed limit.

6. Annex XVII restricted substance testing: Annex XVII is part of the REACH regulations and lists chemical substances that are prohibited or restricted in use in the EU. Bathroom products need to be tested for Annex XVII restricted substances to ensure that they do not contain these restricted substances or that the content of restricted substances is below the prescribed limit.
