How to handle the EU REACH testing process for toiletry bags?

Date:2024-02-28 09:41:40 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Toiletries bags need to undergo EU REACH testing. REACH is an EU regulation that requires daily products not to contain chemicals that are harmful to the human body. All daily products produced in the EU or imported into the EU market, including toiletry bags, need to be registered, inspected and approved for the content of harmful chemical substances.

EU REACH testing items for toiletry bags:

1. Physical and chemical property testing: Evaluate the basic physical and chemical properties of the product, such as density, melting point, boiling point, solubility, etc. These tests help understand how a product behaves during normal use and disposal.

2. Toxicological property testing: Evaluate the potential harm of chemical substances in toiletry bags to human health. This may include testing for acute toxicity, chronic toxicity, teratogenicity, mutagenicity, etc. These tests are designed to ensure that products do not cause harm to humans when used.

3. Ecotoxicology property testing: Evaluate the potential harm of chemical substances in toiletry bags to the ecosystem, such as bioaccumulation, biodegradability, etc. These tests help understand the behavior and impact of the product in the environment.

4. Environmental behavior detection: Evaluate the behavior and transformation of toiletry bags in the environment, such as degradation rate, biological enrichment, migration, etc. These tests help understand the durability and stability of the product in the environment.

5. Exposure assessment: Evaluate the exposure pathways and exposure amounts of chemical substances in toiletry bags, including workplace exposure, environmental exposure, etc. This helps determine the extent and risk of human exposure to chemicals.

6. Risk assessment and management: Based on the above test results, comprehensively assess the risks of the toiletry bag and take necessary risk management measures. This may include limiting the use of chemicals, improving production processes, etc.

EU REACH testing process for toiletry bags:

1. The applicant fills out the REACH testing application form and provides a list of product components that require REACH testing.

2. Determine the REACH testing fee based on the color of the material provided.

3. After confirming the quotation, sign the application form and service agreement, pay the full REACH testing fee, and prepare testing samples (usually 2-3 samples are required).

4. The testing staff will conduct the REACH test. The test cycle is generally 7-10 working days, and it can also be processed on an expedited basis.

5. After the test is completed, the engineer will prepare the data and issue a REACH test report.

6. Mail the paper report or provide the original electronic report.
