Headphones need to be certified by China RoHS. China RoHS is a national policy and regulation proposed by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China. It aims to control and reduce the pollution of electronic information products to the environment and human health during the production, import and sales process. . The headphone China RoHS testing project mainly covers harmful substances that may be present in electronic products. According to the requirements of RoHS certification, these hazardous substances need to be restricted or banned in the production and use of headphone products.



ROHS testing items mainly include the following hazardous substances:

1. Lead (Pb): Lead is a heavy metal. Long-term exposure or ingestion may cause harm to human health.

2. Cadmium (Cd): Cadmium is also a toxic heavy metal that is harmful to the human body and the environment.

3. Mercury (Hg): Mercury is a highly toxic element that may cause damage to the human body even in trace amounts.

4. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+): Hexavalent chromium is a known carcinogen and a potential threat to human health.

5. Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs): These substances are flame retardants but are considered to have potential environmental and health risks.



In addition to the above five hazardous substances, RoHS 2.0 version also adds restrictions on the following four phthalates:

1. Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)

2. Phthalic acid (2-ethylhexyl ester) (DEHP)

3. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)

4. Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP)

During China RoHS testing, the earphones will be physically separated into metal and non-metal parts for separate testing. This is because the testing items of metal and non-metal parts may be different. Metal parts usually test the first four items mentioned above, while non-metal parts test all six or ten items (including the newly added four phthalate items).
