Date:2024-07-01 11:56:19 Classification :【question】 Visits:
SOR/2016-175 is a regulation in the Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA), which specifically targets glazed ceramics and glassware that come into contact with food. Tea sets need to undergo Canadian SOR/2016-175 testing.

Tea Set Canada SOR/2016-175 Testing Items:

1. Sensory testing:

The tea set is evaluated through sensory testing to ensure that it will not have any adverse effects on food in terms of vision, smell, etc.

2. Soaking liquid detection:

Sample preparation: Select representative samples and ensure that the sample surface is clean, free of oil stains, and free of coatings, etc.

Preparation of soaking liquid: According to the product usage conditions, select appropriate simulated food and prepare soaking liquid.

Sample soaking: Put the sample into the soaking solution and soak it according to the specified time and temperature conditions.

Soaking liquid analysis: Take out the soaking liquid and use appropriate analysis methods (such as atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, etc.) to determine the content of lead, cadmium and other harmful substances in the soaking liquid.

Result determination: According to regulatory requirements, compare the measurement results of harmful substances in the soaking solution with the specified limit values to determine whether the sample meets the requirements.

3. Chemical performance test:

Test the chemical properties of tea set materials, including whether they contain harmful chemicals, such as heavy metals, formaldehyde, etc.

4. Barrier performance test:

Test the barrier properties of tea set materials, such as gas barrier, water vapor barrier, etc., to ensure that food will not be affected by the external environment.

5. Heat resistance test:

Test the performance of the tea set at high temperatures to evaluate its safety in use in high-temperature environments such as microwave ovens and ovens.

6. Cold resistance performance test:

Test the performance of the tea set at low temperatures to evaluate its safety in use in low-temperature environments such as refrigerators and freezers.

7. Surface coating inspection:

Test whether the surface coating of the tea set is wear-resistant, easy to clean, non-toxic, etc. to ensure that the product will not cause food contamination during use.
