As a common kitchen appliance, the parts of the soymilk machine that come in direct contact with food need to comply with China's GB4806 food contact material testing standards. The GB4806 series of standards is a set of standards developed by China for the safety of food contact materials and products, aiming to ensure that these materials do not contaminate food, thereby protecting the health of consumers.

1. Food contact material testing of soymilk machines

The main parts of the soymilk machine that come in direct contact with food include but are not limited to:

- Heater: usually made of metal materials such as stainless steel or aluminum alloy.

- Inner pot: may be made of stainless steel, plastic or other materials.

- Blade: usually made of metal materials.

- Sealing ring: may be made of rubber or silicone.

2. Testing standards

According to the GB4806 series of standards, these parts of the soymilk machine need to comply with the following specific standards:

- GB4806.9-2023: National Food Safety Standard Metal Materials and Products for Food Contact. This standard specifies in detail the composition, migration limit, physical and chemical properties and other relevant requirements of metal materials.

- GB4806.7-2016: National Food Safety Standard for Plastic Materials and Products for Food Contact. This standard applies to plastic parts used in soymilk machines.

- GB4806.11-2016: National Food Safety Standard for Rubber Materials and Products for Food Contact. This standard applies to rubber parts used in soymilk machines.

III. Test Items

Test items for food contact materials of soymilk machines usually include:

1. Total migration: evaluate the total amount of all migratable substances in the material.

2. Migration of specific elements: such as the migration of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, chromium, and nickel.

3. Sensory indicators: evaluate the impact of materials on the sensory properties of food, such as whether there is odor, color, etc.

4. Physical and chemical properties: such as corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, etc.

IV. Test process

1. Sample preparation: randomly select a certain number of soymilk machine component samples from the production line to ensure the representativeness of the samples.

2. Migration test: Carry out migration test under specified temperature and time conditions to evaluate the total amount of migratable substances in the material.

3. Metal element determination: Atomic absorption spectroscopy or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry is used to determine the migration amount of specific metal elements.

4. Sensory index determination: Sensory analysis method is used to evaluate the sensory impact of materials on food.

5. Data analysis: Statistical analysis is performed on the measurement data to calculate the total migration amount and metal element migration amount, and compare them with the standard limit.

6. Result determination: Determine whether the sample is qualified based on the comparison between the measurement results and the standard limit.

V. Compliance analysis

In order to ensure the compliance of the soymilk machine heater (metal material), special attention should be paid to the following points:

- Material selection: Commonly used stainless steel types include 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel, which have excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and mechanical strength.

- Migration limit: Ensure that the migration of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, chromium, and nickel in metal materials does not exceed the limit specified in the GB4806.9-2023 standard.

- Physical and chemical properties: Ensure that the physical and chemical properties of the material such as corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance meet the standard requirements.
