What is the battery command test standard? Battery Directive 2006/66/EC and Amending Directive 2013/56/EU

From September 26, 2008, the EU Battery Directive 91/157/EEC was replaced, and the new Directive 2006/66/EC came into force. Since then, all battery toys in the EU market need to refer to the new directive.

Directive 2006/66/EC applies to all other types of batteries and batteries (AA, AAA, button type batteries, lead-acid batteries, rechargeable batteries) except for medical and electric tools, and * * regulates the collection, treatment, recycling and disposal of batteries, aiming to limit certain hazardous substances and improve the environmental performance of batteries in all operation links in the supply chain.


Prohibit:

It is prohibited to use batteries or batteries containing the following substances (including those already installed in the appliance):

-The mercury content of button battery * exceeds 2%, and that of other batteries * exceeds 0.0005% (by weight).

-Cadmium content * exceeds 0.002% by weight.

1. All batteries, batteries and battery packs shall be marked with a wheeled trash can with a cross fork;

2. Before September 26, 2009, all portable batteries, car batteries and batteries shall be marked with their capacity;

3. For batteries with mercury content and cadmium content * standard or lead content * exceeding 0.004%, batteries and button batteries must be marked with the mark of the wheeled garbage can with a cross and the relevant metal chemical symbol (Hg, Cd, or Pb). The heavy metal mark is marked below the pattern of the wheeled garbage can and occupies at least 1/4 of the whole pattern;

4. The pattern of the garbage can with wheels should account for less than 3% of the larger area of the battery, battery or battery pack, and the larger size should not exceed 5X5cm. For cylindrical batteries, the pattern should account for less than 1.5% of the surface area of the battery, battery or battery pack, and the larger should not exceed 5X5cm.

5. If the size of the mark on the battery, battery or battery pack can only be less than 0.5X0.5cm, it can not be marked, but the mark must be printed on the package, and the size must not be less than 1X1cm;

6. All signs must be clearly printed and not easily worn.

Identification symbol: if the battery products comply with the battery directive, it is not necessary to repeatedly comply with the RoHS directive (attached figure: battery trash can logo)

explain:

All batteries must be attached with discard instructions (which can be printed on the instructions of toys or imported goods) and legends for reference, including the following elements:

a) Substances with potential impact on the environment and human health;

b) It shall not be discarded together with domestic garbage;

c) Details of collection and recycling plan;

d) The responsibility of consumers in garbage recycling;

e) The meaning of the trash can mark and the chemical mark Hg, Cd and Pb of the cross pulley.


Removal of waste batteries:

The product should be designed so that the waste battery can be dismantled. Even if the battery is integrated with the product, the method of safe removal of the battery should be described in the product instruction manual.
