Washington, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has warned consumers to immediately stop using Girasol Rainbow Love Woven Wrap harnesses because they do not meet the federal safety standards for harnesses, and infants may fall from them. CPSC also urges consumers to avoid using similar products such as Girasol, as they may pose the same risks.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission test showed that the Girasol Rainbow Love Sling Wrap harness failed to meet the federal safety standards for harnesses, including structural integrity and occupant retention requirements. In addition, these instructions include incomplete warning statements required for the sling bracket. Hoisting bags manufactured after January 30, 2018 must comply with mandatory federal safety standards.


Baby Earthling LLC (d/b/a Wrap Your Baby), an importer located in Mountainair, New Mexico, has not agreed to recall the lifting bag.


These straps are sold online until November 2022, priced between $120 and $165. The strap is made of cotton woven fabric with rainbow printing. One end starts with red, then orange, yellow, green, blue, Indigo, and finally ends with purple. The size of the hanging bag is 5 to 9, 2.60 to 6 meters (8.5 feet to 19.6 feet), suitable for infants weighing between 8 and 35 pounds.

CPSC is aware that other similar Girasol hanging bags are sold online, with the following models available: Girasol Sherwood Woven Scarf Strap, Girasol Rainbow Baby Woven Scarf, Barefoot Rainbow Girasol Woven Scarf, Sunshine Rainbow Girasol Woven Scarf, Girasol Atlantis Woven Scarf, Girasol Ocean Rain Woven Scarf Girasol purple woven scarves and Girasol Earth woven scarves Wrap have not been specifically tested for their safety, and there are currently no test samples available.

CPSC urges consumers to stop using straps, cut off packaging to prevent future use, and dispose of products.
