In San Mateo, California, law enforcement officers seized a large number of flavored electronic cigarette bombs from a tobacco store after an unplanned compliance check.
According to Hoodline, on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 15th, the police went to the store for inspection after discovering that someone had purchased flavored e-cigarette products.
Police said that officers from the Youth Service Department of the San Mateo Police Department witnessed a store employee selling flavored tobacco to customers.
California voters passed the SB793 Act in November last year, prohibiting the sale of flavored tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, electronic liquids, cigarette bombs, and any other e-cigarette devices.
According to the police, an investigation into the store revealed 6.298 flavors of electronic cigarette bombs, valued at approximately $189.000. The ammunition cartridge has been seized, but the investigation is still ongoing.
The San Mateo Police Department is coordinating with the San Mateo County District Prosecutor's Office to file charges.
