According to Xinhua News Agency, New Zealand has established new regulations to restrict teenagers from smoking electronic cigarettes, which will take effect on September 21st.
Health Minister Ayesha Verrall has stated that new e-cigarette specialty stores will be prohibited within 300 meters of schools and Maori gathering places.
Electronic cigarettes require child safety mechanisms, and names such as' marshmallows' and 'strawberry jelly donuts' will be banned, "Villar said. Only universal names such as "orange" or "berry" are allowed to accurately describe the taste.
The new regulations also specify the maximum allowable nicotine content and require all e-cigarette devices to be equipped with detachable batteries.
We are creating a future where tobacco products are no longer addictive, attractive, or easily accessible, and the same demand applies to e-cigarettes, "Villar said.
