Construction Toys Australia New Zealand AS/NZS ISO8124 Test Project

Date:2024-01-23 10:41:17 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Exporting construction toys to Australia/New Zealand requires AS/NZS 8124 testing. AS/NZS 8124 is a standard used jointly by Australia and New Zealand. It mainly involves the safety requirements of children's toys and other children's products. This standard specifies requirements for mechanical and physical properties, flammability properties, migration of specific elements, etc. of toys and other children's products to ensure product safety and compliance with relevant regulations.

Australia and New Zealand AS/NZS ISO8124 standards:

1. Mechanical and physical properties: This standard specifies the mechanical and physical performance requirements of toys, including small parts testing, small ball testing, sharp edge testing, wire testing, etc., to ensure that toys will not cause harm or danger to children.

2. Flammability: The standard prohibits the use of certain flammable materials and stipulates flammability requirements for small fire sources to ensure that toys will not cause fires.

3. Migration of specific elements: This standard stipulates the testing methods and limit values of 8 soluble heavy metals in accessible toy materials to reduce potential harm to children.

Australia New Zealand AS/NZS ISO8124 test items:

1. Mechanical and physical performance testing: This test focuses on the safety of the toy under normal use and foreseeable abuse. This includes small parts testing, small ball testing, sharp edge testing, wire testing, etc. to ensure that the toys will not cause harm or danger to children.

2. Flammability test: This test mainly focuses on the flammability performance of toys, especially for toys with batteries or motors. The purpose of testing is to ensure that toys do not cause fires.

3. Migration test of specific elements: This test mainly focuses on the testing methods and limit values of 8 soluble heavy metals in accessible toy materials to reduce potential harm to children.

Construction toys are a type of children's toys and therefore also need to comply with the requirements of the AS/NZS 8124 standard. Before exporting, manufacturers or suppliers need to ensure that their construction toys have passed the AS/NZS 8124 test and obtained the corresponding certification certificate to ensure that the products meet the market requirements of Australia and New Zealand.
