California 65 Testing Project for Household Cleaners

Date:2024-06-03 10:56:24 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Household cleaners are required to undergo California 65 testing, which is a warning regulation about harmful substances that may be present in consumer products. The California 65 testing project involves a wide range of chemical substances, including heavy metals such as lead and cadmium, organic chemicals such as phthalates and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and harmful substances such as formaldehyde.

California 65 testing items for household cleaners:

1. Heavy metal detection:

Lead (Pb): California 65 has strict limits on lead content, especially for children's products. For household cleaners, the main thing is to test the lead content in the product to make sure it does not exceed the legal limit.

Cadmium (Cd): Cadmium is another common heavy metal, and it also needs to be detected to see if its content exceeds the standard.

2. Phthalate detection:

Phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIDP, DnHP, etc.): These chemicals may have adverse health effects in some cases. California 65 requires testing of these substances in household cleaners to ensure they meet legal standards.

3. Formaldehyde detection:

Formaldehyde is a common harmful chemical that needs to be tested for formaldehyde content in household cleaners, especially those that may come into direct contact with skin.

4. Flame retardant detection:

Although flame retardants are primarily used in textiles and other materials, in some cases household cleaners may also contain flame retardant ingredients. California 65 also requires testing for such substances.

5. Bisphenol A (BPA) detection:

BPA is a chemical commonly found in plastics and other materials, and although its use in household cleaners may be less common, California 65 requires testing for possible BPA content.

6. Other chemical substances:

The list of chemicals controlled by California 65 is extensive and may include other chemicals not listed above. Specific testing items may be adjusted based on the specific ingredients and uses of the product.
