Children's toys are an indispensable part of their growth process, but the safety of toys is the most concerning issue for parents. In order to ensure the safety of children, various countries have formulated corresponding testing requirements. This article will introduce the testing requirements for children's toys in several major countries.

EU

The European Union has very strict testing requirements for children's toys, with standards mainly including EN71-1, EN71-2, EN71-3, EN71-9, etc. Among them, EN71-1 tests the physical and mechanical properties of toys, including tension, pressure, tearing, etc; EN71-2 is a test for the flammability of toys; EN71-3 tests the heavy metal content of toys; EN71-9 tests the Electrical safety of electric toys. Only through these tests can toys be sold in the EU market.

United States

The testing requirements for children's toys in the United States mainly include ASTM F963 and CPSIA. ASTM F963 tests the physical, mechanical, chemical, and electrical aspects of children's toys, including the size of small parts, durability of toys, and heavy metal content; CPSIA tests the reachability of children's toys, that is, whether children can easily swallow or inhale small parts in toys. Only through these tests can toys be sold in the US market.

China

The testing requirements for children's toys in China mainly include GB 6675-2014 and GB 19865-2005. GB 6675-2014 tests the physical, mechanical, chemical, electrical and other aspects of children's toys, including the size of small parts, durability of toys, heavy metal content, etc; GB 19865-2005 tests the acoustic performance of children's toys. Only through these tests can toys be sold in the Chinese market.

Japan

The testing requirements for children's toys in Japan mainly include ST マーク and JIS S 2002. ST マーク is a safety symbol issued by the Japanese government, and only toys that have passed ST マーク can be sold in the Japanese market; JIS S 2002 tests the physical, mechanical, chemical, and electrical aspects of children's toys, including the size of small parts, durability of toys, and heavy metal content.

The above are the testing requirements for children's toys in several major countries, indicating that countries attach great importance to the safety of children's toys. Parents must pay attention to whether they meet the corresponding testing requirements when purchasing children's toys to ensure their children's safety.
