DGCCRF No.2004/64 Food Contact Materials Plastic Testing Project in France. DGCCRF No.2004/64 is a regulation on food contact materials issued by the French General Council for Competition, Consumption, and Fraud Suppression (Food Control) in 2004. This regulation clearly lists and specifies the use of food contact materials and specifies the methods and limits for laboratory testing of the following materials.

The testing product categories listed in this regulation are 1. Plastic 2. Polymer 3. Paper 4. Ceramic and glass 5. Stainless steel, aluminum, alloy, uncoated metal 6. Metal and alloy with metal coating 7. Metal and alloy with organic coating 8. Rubber.

Different materials may use different regulations, and the testing items and technical standards may also differ.

This type of product sold to France must not only comply with the requirements of the EU Regulation (EC) No1935/2004, but also comply with local regulations in France. French regulations not only have special requirements for plastic and rubber products that come into contact with food, but also have special classification and requirements for metal products. For example, cookware with organic coatings not only requires testing of the coating surface, but also corresponding requirements for the metal used as the substrate.

The DGCCRF standard has stricter and more comprehensive testing standards for metal products such as tableware. France requires separate testing of the coating and the materials inside, such as cooking utensils with organic coatings. In addition to testing the surface of the coating, there are also corresponding requirements for the metal used as the substrate.
