Do plush toys require UKCA certification and BS EN71 testing for export to the U

Plush toys exported to the UK require UKCA certification and BS EN71 testing. After Brexit in the UK, products entering the UK market need to apply for UKCA certification, and BS EN71 testing is a safety standard for toys, and plush toys also need to undergo this testing.

Plush toys exported to the UK require UKCA certification. After Brexit on December 31, 2020, the UK officially separated from the EU and revised the UK Toys (Safety) Regulations, which stipulated that products entering the UK market must bear the UKCA logo in accordance with regulations. On August 24, 2021, the UK government released the latest notice on its official website regarding the requirements for the use of the UKCA logo. The deadline for the non use of the CE logo in the UK market (including England, Scotland, and Wales, but not for Northern Ireland) was originally set to be extended to January 1, 2023. However, it should be noted that if the EU updates its regulations and the CE markings on manufacturers' products comply with the new regulations, these CE marked products will not be accepted by the UK market. Starting from January 1, 2023, products entering the UK market must be labeled with the UKCA logo in accordance with regulations.

The export of plush toys to the UK requires BS EN71 testing. BS EN71 is a toy safety standard established by the European Union, which includes 11 parts. The first part is physical and mechanical performance testing, the second part is flame retardant testing, and the third part is the dissolution of eight major heavy metals. Plush toys need to be tested according to these standards to ensure they meet the safety requirements of the UK market. During the testing process, plush toys need to undergo a series of tests and evaluations to determine whether they comply with BS EN71 standards. These tests include appearance and structural inspection, flame retardant performance testing, and eight major heavy metal dissolution testing. If the plush toy passes all tests and evaluations and meets BS EN71 standards, it will receive the corresponding certification mark for sale in the UK market.

Therefore, exporting plush toys to the UK requires UKCA certification and BS EN71 testing to ensure that they meet the requirements of the UK market.
